Northcliffe Unveils Website Traffic Stats

Some ten regional newspapers sites from Northcliffe are making public their traffic data through the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC).

Websites including thisisplymouth.co.uk, thisisnottingham.co.uk and thisissouthwales.co.uk are now covered by the ABCe six-month certification process.

Northcliffe stated that releasing data, such as unique user statistics, through the independent audit will make its audience figures available to advertisers.

And director for marketing Sean Mahon told HoldTheFrontPage.co.uk that the company is seeking to increase the transparency of its online reach.

He said “We are very excited about the growth we’ve experienced across our ‘thisis’ network during the last few months.”

Mahon added: “It is important at the same time to illustrate to the advertising community that we have a thriving and growing online audience.

“These individual sites ABCe figures are the next stage of an ongoing process to provide transparency on our online reach.”

Next year Northcliffe plans to double the number of regional sites offering audited data through the ABCe with the ultimate aim of all its websites being enlisted.
