Young People Reading Online Newspapers

A recent report from the Newspaper Association of America says U.S. newspaper Web sites saw a 13.7% increase in total newspaper audience for adults aged 25 to 34 in the second half of 2006. For adults aged 18 to 24, the total newspaper readership was up 9.2% in the period.

Overall, while newspaper circulation continues to slide, readership is growing – if online newspaper sites are included in the count. Online U.S. newspaper readership increased 15% to 57.3 million users per month compared to the same period in 2005, according to NAdbase, which tallies total print and online audience readership data for the NAA.
